Laurie Krauz

1997 Outstanding Vocalist; 2009 Outstanding Theme Show (Tapestry Rewoven)

With her award-winning vocals and her lauded emotional range as a singer, Laurie Krauz fuses jazz, blues, theatre music, and R&B into a genre that is all her own. Named one of the top 500 jazz vocalists of all time in The Jazz Singers, a book by noted jazz critic Scott Yanow, Laurie has played to standing ovations at such venues as JVC Jazz Festival, B.B. King Blues Club, The Blue Note, and Iridium. She is a three-time Female Jazz Vocalist MAC Award winner and a two-time Bistro Award honoree. Her second Bistro Award (with Daryl Kojak) was for their theme show Tapestry Rewoven, a jazz/blues reimagining of Carole King’s classic Tapestry album. A recording of this project is currently in production for release later this year.
