Still Swingin’

Bistro Award-winning vocalist Deb Berman has the musical savvy and freedom of expression of a jazz singer, and a highly individual and eclectic approach that transcends genres. What’s more, on top of her considerable vocal and interpretive strengths, she has a winning presence and personality—and she’s very funny. This is her first new show in several years, and that is cause for celebration. It includes songs by writers as diverse as Duke Ellington, Stephen Sondheim, Bob Dylan, Louis Prima, Jerome Kern, Lennon & McCartney, Maltby & Shire, and Des’ree. She is joined by musical director Gregory Toroian on piano, Tom Hubbard on bass, and Vito Lesczak on drums; Geoff Stoner directed.

Our review of a previous show of hers concluded by saying, “This is masterful work by a singer who belongs on the world stage, not only in New York.” To read that review, click here
